Competition Awards

We are extremely proud to share the news that our Akademeia team gained 2nd place at the inaugural Samsung Solve for Tomorrow national competition.

138 teams from high schools and universities across Poland participated in the competition that consisted of three stages spread across 3 months of intense work.

Our students’ innovative project titled “Algae vs. CO2” explored the potential of algae for indoor air purification. Using AI technology, our students have created a relatively simple device that enables growing an algae plantation in a home aquarium! This solution not only absorbs CO2, contributing to the improvement of indoor air quality, but also creates a base for ecological fiber for 3D printing (which then can be then recycled in the process of creating parts for new devices!).

In the final stage of the competition, 9 shortlisted teams had their demo presentations in front of the panel of experts, followed by the Q and A session.

HUGE congratulations to Karolina, Victoria, Juliusz and Adam for this amazing achievement. Special thanks to their teacher, Dr Jakub Bochiński for his support and guidance.

We’ve heard that this is just the beginning of their creative design STEM journey with solutions for better tomorrow! Good luck and we are waiting to see their innovative air purifiers on sale soon.
