Teaching Staff
Job description
We are looking for a dynamic, academically-driven teacher to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Akademeia High School, which is already a well-established international school in its ninth year of operation. You would be a part of a caring and inclusive community where both our students and staff have agency and thrive while sharing a passion for learning.
About Akademeia:
Akademeia High School is an academically-selective school in Warsaw, offering IGCSEs and A Levels alongside Akademeia Assessed Courses. The majority of our students are preparing to study at Oxbridge, Russell group, and Ivy League universities as well as acclaimed architecture, art and music schools. With a rigorous admissions process and A Level classes taught in the form of undergraduate seminars, the school pursues a pre-university university model. The school offers a robust scholarship programme, with 10% of places allocated to merit-based, partial and full scholarships. Together with Akademeia High School Foundation, the school also supports several educational outreach and community engagement initiatives.
About the job:
You will have a chance to work with some of the most intellectually curious young minds and have the chance to inspire them through stimulating and creative lessons in small classes of up to 12 students.
You will be joining a dedicated team of 10 enthusiastic mathematicians who regularly collaborate and share resources and strategies for engaging our students. Our commitment to a student-centred approach fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which prepares students for academic success and lifelong learning.
Mathematics department is dynamic, offering frequent CPD workshops and departmental meetings; we also embrace diverse teaching styles and actively support peer-to-peer learning through lesson observations and constructive feedback. We follow the Pearson International GCSE and A Level curricula, and in Y11 we also teach GCSE Statistics and a pre-A Level programme, which is designed by our team, to ensure our students are thoroughly prepared for A Level.
As the school’s largest department, we consistently achieve outstanding results. In 2023, our student earned the Highest Mark in the world in the International A Level in Mathematics, and in 2024 another achieved a perfect 200/200 on the iGCSE. Many of our students go on to study at prestigious Universities, such as Warwick University (Mathematics), Imperial College (Mathematics and Engineering), LSE (Mathematics), Oxford University (Engineering), and Princeton and MIT (Engineering). We also encourage participation in prestigious mathematics competitions like the UKMT and British Mathematical Olympiad, where our students frequently earn gold medals and merit awards.
About you:
We are seeking a passionate Mathematics Teacher eager to contribute to our team's success and bring fresh ideas to our department. If you are dedicated to making a difference and wish to be part of a collaborative and high-achieving team, we would love to hear from you.
