Akademeia’s summer school courses aim to do something different. In common with our school’s principles, their purpose is to take young people to places conventional education can sometimes leave untouched: to help them embrace the subject matter through a critical lens, to ensure they see the relevance of what they are learning to their futures, and to inspire them to seek more.
The courses we offer cover the full spectrum of disciplines and faculties across the school. The summer programmes are informed by our teaching philosophy and overriding mission to help each student reach their full potential and unlock a passion for learning that will help sustain their academic careers long after the courses finish.
The courses we offer in our summer school are all designed and developed by our own faculty and are based on the experience we have accrued working with some of the brightest young minds. Our teaching staff are both interested in their subjects, and interesting in terms of what they have achieved themselves. We sincerely hope your child will have as much fun studying on the courses as we had devising them!

Course Descriptions
Our online behaviour has never been more important or impactful. The English Language summer school course will introduce learners to the world of responsible and beneficial online citizenship.
On this course, learners will explore the games, social media platforms and online advertising their generation takes for granted while developing and using key critical thinking skills to stay safe and make good judgements. In additional to expanding their vocabulary range, key language skills such as reading, speaking and writing will be strengthened through a range of communicative and active focusses such as debates, guided reading, and effective posting!
On this course, students will learn:
How to adapt written communication depending on the genre and intended purpose (emails, social media etc.).
How to communicate and structure an argument to persuade an intended audience.
How to engage in respectful and open debate to resolve conflicts.
How to become more autonomous and responsible online citizens.
Designed for Gen Alpha, but led by Akademeia’s very own millennials, this is a course that will help young students embrace the online age while improving their key English language skills!
Our eyes, ears and brains are amazing - but they’re not perfect! Sometimes our senses trick us, and our thinking can jump to the wrong conclusions. So how do scientists figure out what’s really going on? They use a superpower called the scientific method! It's high time for you to get familiar with this modern sorcery.
During this summer school, students will discover how their senses work (and when they don’t), learn about sneaky brain traps called biases, and work like a real scientist: participants will use laboratory equipment to run experiments, ask questions, propose hypothesis and test their ideas under the expert guidance of our physicists.
By the end, the younger learners that participate on this course won’t just learn science – they will think like scientists to unlock a superpower that will last a lifetime.
During this week-long summer intensive, our Department of Creative and Performing Arts Department invites young learners ages to explore art and creativity as essential tools for understanding and engaging with the world. Through hands-on projects, students will build foundational technical art skills while learning how to think, observe and problem-solve like creative individuals.
Taking place in our beautiful, 100 square metre studio, this workshop emphasises how artistic thinking connects to everyday life and all professional fields—from science and technology to storytelling and design. Students will also take a field trip to visit a working artist’s studio and/or an exhibition, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how creativity comes to life beyond the classroom.
In today’s rapidly changing and interconnected world, learning from the past to understand the present and approach the future has never been more important. Using Warsaw as our focus, our social sciences faculty will introduce learners the remarkable history of Poland’s capital city, from destruction to rebirth. Through field trips led by teachers, students will learn to take a multidisciplinary approach to consider the impact of the past on the systems and people here today.
From there, students will be introduced to Geographical Information Systems (GIS), allowing them to investigate for themselves how Poland has changed over space and time, and the implications this has for us all. We will learn how to collate and analyse different types and sources of data, taking a multidisciplinary approach to explore the matter through various fields, before working on our project investigations to tell stories of change and presenting these to the class.
Our Locating Warsaw course is perfect for all young people interested in history, the urban landscape, and the lessons that can be applied to our shared future.
This Natural Sciences summer course offers an integrated exploration of the nervous system, combining anatomy, histology, physiology, and common neuropathologies to build a strong foundational understanding of neural structure and function.
Through lectures and hands-on learning, students will examine the organisation of the central and peripheral nervous systems and how alterations at the cellular level relate to disease. A core component of the course is a laboratory project focused on classic neurohistological techniques, where students will prepare and analyse nervous tissue using Nissl and Golgi staining methods to visualise neuronal cell bodies, cytoarchitecture, and neural connectivity.
Ideal for students between the ages of 15 and 17, this course will inspire and equip students to pursue their learning of this fascinating multidisciplinary science.
Our Economics faculty are pleased to invite budding entrepreneurs to our interactive business summer school course this summer. Combining key skills such as leadership, marketing, financial management and negotiation, the programme will introduce students to how modern businesses operate.
With a focus on teamwork and sound decision-making, participants will learn how to generate and evaluate business ideas, identify customer need, and validate market demand. The course will also help develop practical marketing skills, including branding, pricing and positioning, while introducing core financial thinking around costs, profits and sustainability. Drawing on the experience and expertise of our faculty, and including field trips to enhance students’ understanding, this summer school course will help learners embrace their entrepreneurial spirit while improving key skills for the future.
A student’s preparation for higher education starts long before making applications. Our unique summer programme will equip learners making their foray into world of university applications with an overview of the key requirements and skills they need to develop on the journey.
Through a series of group seminars and individual consultations with experienced advisors from our University and Professional Guidance Department, students will be invited to consider their strengths and approach to personal development to ensure they are on the right path to reach their best fit destinations. Participants will learn the differences between the UK, US and EU application processes, what they need to have ready and by when, and the exact role educational professionals, university advisers and themselves will need to play moving forward to turn their dreams into reality.
